Local proclamation at Tismana Monastery: St. Antonia, a model of holiness, peace of mind and unceasing prayertranslated

The local proclamation of the canonization of St. Pious Antonina took place on Sunday at the Tismana Monastery in Gorj county. Metropolitan Irineu of Oltenia highlighted the saintly model of the pious.

The Holy Liturgy was celebrated at the outer altar of the monastic settlement by Metropolitan Irineu of Oltenia, together with Metropolitan Ioan of Banat, Archbishop Varsanufie of Râmnic, Bishops Lucian of Caransebeş, Nicodim of Severin and Strehaia, Sebastian of Slatina and Romanati, Benedict of Sălaj, and with Vicar Bishop Teofil Trotusan of the Archdiocese of Roman and Bacău.

Metropolitan John urged the faithful to love their enemies and pray for peace: "Let us bend our knees and watch, as Christ, all night, on the mountain, prayed that God would grant peace, tranquility and love between brothers."

At the end of the Holy Liturgy, the synodal act proclaiming the canonization of St. Antonina from Tismana was presented, along with the icon, troparion and her venerable relics.
