Presentation of the Patriarchal Bible study program was held for teenagerstranslated

September 7, 2026 · 1 min read

Responsible for the dissemination of the Patriarchal Bible study program, Priest Alexander Mishchenko, together with the head of the department of religious education and catechesis of the Otradnensky diocese, Priest Anthony Arkhipov, held a number of meetings in August with teenagers - participants in specialized shifts of the Samara youth center “Forest Fairy Tale”. “So this is the meeting!” – that’s what these events were called, because for most of the guys, the participation of two priest-speakers was the first time in their lives. Moreover, most of them for the first time had the opportunity to become acquainted with the text of the main book - the Gospel. The teenagers gained experience in finding answers to the most exciting questions from the Gospel lines, thought together and applied these words to their lives. After classes, the guys came up with questions, asking how they could continue communication after returning from their shift to the city.

Nice to see the kids getting a real first look at the Gospel instead of just hearing about it. The part where they started asking how to keep talking about it back in the city says a lot. Hope Father Alexander and Father Antony have a simple plan ready for when those teens get home.

It’s good that the priests didn’t just tell stories, but immediately let the children look for answers in the Gospel themselves. I especially liked that the teenagers then came up with questions and wanted to continue communication in the city. I wonder if they have already figured out how to organize this - perhaps through online meetings or parish groups?
