The celebration of St. M. Mc. Demetrius, the Fountain of Myrrh, the Protector of the Metropolitan Cathedral and of the City of Craiovatranslated

With the blessing and in the presence of His Holiness Father Dr. Irineu, Archbishop of Craiova and Metropolitan of Oltenia, on Monday, October 26, 2026, the patron saint of the Metropolitan Cathedral "Holy Great Martyr Demetrius, the Fountain of Peace", the Protector of the Metropolitan Cathedral and of the City of Craiova, was celebrated.

The celebration was preceded, on the eve, by the traditional procession with the Holy Relics, which took place on Sunday evening, October 25, in the central streets of the city. His Eminence Father Metropolitan Irineu was present at the event, who led the procession alongside an impressive council of priests and deacons and thousands of believers.

On the day of the patron saint, the Holy Liturgy was performed by Father Metropolitan Irineu, together with a council chosen by priests and deacons, among whom we mention: Archim.
