The statement of the Archbishop of Sinai, Mr. Simeon, in which he announced his will, as a representative of the Sinaitic brotherhood, to come and sign an agreement with the Egyptian authorities on the institutional and legal framework of the Monastery, was the resounding start for the "sprint of the last hundred meters".

According to a publication of the "TA NEA" newspaper, in the short time remaining until the final signing, a series of individual issues that constitute the thorns of the agreement should be resolved both before and after its signing:

1. Finalization of the text of the agreement, which is currently in English, Egyptian and Greek languages, with parallel mutual ratification so that there are no issues of interpretation in the future.

2. Publication of the text even on the day of signing, if not earlier, as required by the rules of good faith.

3. Publication of the approval letters of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, Jerusalem, Alexandria and the Churches of Greece and Cyprus.
