Celebration of the memory of Hieromartyr Alexander Tsitserovtranslated

On September 9, a festive service was held in the Ilyinsky Church in the village of Chapaevka in honor of the Hieromartyr Alexander Tsitserov. The Divine Liturgy was led by the dean of the Zvenigorod deanery district, priest Nikolai Kurenkov. After the service, a religious procession took place, at the end of which Father Nikolai read a prayer to the Hieromartyr Alexander and addressed the parishioners with a pastoral word.

Hieromartyr Alexander Tsitserov from 1916 to 1937 was the rector of the St. Nicholas Church in the village of Nikolskoye-Klyapovo, Zvenigorod district, and the Ilyinskaya Chapel in the village of Chapaevka (now the village of Chapaevka) assigned to it. In 1932 - elevated to the rank of archpriest and appointed dean of the Zvenigorod district. Archpriest Alexander was an outstanding teacher and preacher. In 1937, he was appointed rector of the Transfiguration Church in the village of Bolshie Vyazemy and was arrested that same year. On December 3, 1937, the NKVD troika sentenced Father Alexander to ten years in a forced labor camp. Archpriest Alexander Tsitserov died on September 9, 1939 in the Bureinsky NKVD forced labor camp at Izvestkovaya station and was buried in an unknown grave.
