Feast of the Intercession and the memory of Saint Theodore Ushakov in the Moscow regional branch of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russiatranslated

On October 15, a service was held in the St. George home church of the Moscow regional branch of the Moscow Regional University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in honor of the Feast of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos and the holy warrior Theodore Ushakov. On January 26, 2026, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, a piece of the relics of St. Theodore from the Synaxarsky Monastery was transferred to the house church.

The Divine Liturgy was performed by the dean of the Ruza district, Archpriest Igor Lepeshinsky, co-served by the rector of the Intercession Church in the city of Ruza, Archpriest Alexander Lesin. University teachers and cadets prayed during the service. The sermon after the sacramental verse was delivered by Sergei Lukyanov, a university history teacher and altar boy at St. George’s Church.
