Where Two or Three Agree: Common Prayer at Orthodox House

November 4, 2026 · 1 min read

Beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, let us draw near to the Lord together, as He promised in the Gospel: “Where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them” (Matthew 18:19). At Orthodox House Social, we joyfully invite you to join our cherished practice of “Prayer by Agreement,” a beautiful tradition of the Orthodox Church where faithful souls unite in prayer at a single, agreed hour.

Currently, 11 active prayer groups already gather in this spirit, with many of our brothers and sisters participating. Tonight, at 21:00 UTC, the global group “Universal Prayer for Peace” will lift its voice together. You are warmly welcomed to join this sacred moment, regardless of your location. Each group maintains a special list of names—those who are ill, departed, or in need—and members receive a gentle reminder shortly before the hour, ensuring we never forget to pray for one another.

This practice is far more than a schedule; it is a living communion, a tangible expression of our shared faith and care. We warmly invite you to create a group for your own parish, diocese, or church community. Together, we can build a stronger web of prayer across our beloved Church.

Let us heed the Lord’s invitation and gather in His name. Visit the Prayers section of Orthodox House Social to find the group that calls to your heart, or to begin your own. The Lord is with us as we pray together in unity.
