Orthodox platform at Youth Day in Serov: meeting, dialogue, openingtranslated

On June 27, Youth Day, at the city holiday in Serov there was an Orthodox platform open to everyone. Its goal is not just to talk about Orthodoxy, but to provide an opportunity to get in touch with it through live communication and practical activities. A special atmosphere was created by the guys from the Preobrazhensky detachment of the Brotherhood of Orthodox Pathfinders: they held master classes on types of fires and knitting knots. For many guests, this became not only an exciting activity, but also a reason to think about the value of work, mutual assistance and responsibility - qualities that are deeply in tune with the Christian worldview.

A quiz on the basics of Orthodoxy aroused great interest: participants could test their knowledge and learn something new in a relaxed, playful way. Nearby there was a point for conversations with the priest - here everyone could ask an exciting question and receive a calm, attentive answer. The head of the missionary and youth departments of the Serov diocese, Priest Simeon Shestakov, took part in the work of the site: his presence emphasized the importance of the dialogue of the Church with young people and all concerned residents of the city. It's nice that they included a Transfiguration squad with knots and fire classes. My 20-year-old son also likes such practical things, and then it's easy to start a conversation about work and mutual aid. I wonder how the questions went with Father Simeon, were they mainly young people or did adults also stop?

It's good that they included "Transfiguration" with knots and fire classes. My brother also got hooked on such things at the age of 19 last year at camp, so it was easier to talk about responsibility afterwards. Interestingly, did father Simeon have more questions from boys or did girls come too?

Good thing they put on "Преображенский" with the knots and fire lessons. My cousin who is 22 just like that started talking about responsibility and cooperation last year in a similar activity. I also wonder how many girls ended up going to Father Simeon for questions.

It was nice that the “Preobrazhensky” squad was there again with nodes and fire types. My grandson from Düsseldorf did exactly the same thing at a camp like this last year and talked about responsibility much more easily afterwards. I would also be interested to know whether more young men or girls asked Father Simeon questions.

Наши ребята из «Преображенского» и в прошлом году на приходском пикнике вязали узлы с детьми, так что я знаю, как быстро после этого разговор заходит про ответственность. Ours from "Preobraženskii" also worked on knots and fires at our summer camp last year, so afterwards it was easiest to talk about responsibility and help. In our choir, several boys of a similar age started coming exactly after such a camp with knots and fires, and then they more easily get involved in a conversation about faith. Father Simeon told me that girls also came with questions, especially about family and prayer, not just guys. What do you think, are there similar camps near you in Tetovo?

Yes, I took him to the follower camp last year, he was still a bit shy, but after that he actually talked more often about the conversations with Father Simeon.
