— Dear brothers and sisters! I cordially congratulate you all on the Day of National Unity, which is providentially celebrated on the feast of one of the most beloved and revered icons of the Most Holy Theotokos in Rus', called “Kazan”.

This holiday is a tribute to the civil feat of our ancestors. In 1612, under the leadership of Prince Dmitry Pozharsky, the Russian people, overcoming discord and discord, united to defend the Fatherland. With the help of God and through the prayers of the Most Holy Theotokos, unity was achieved, which brought victory and the liberation of Moscow from the invaders.
