More than 10,000 pilgrims worshiped the relics of St. Parascheva in the weekend that preceded the beginning of the pilgrimage from Iași.
The announcement was made by the "Vasile Lupu" Iași County Gendarmerie Inspectorate. The worshipers began to flow, waiting for the line formed in the courtyard of the Metropolis, to worship the relics of the saint.
"For this period prior to the official start of the pilgrimage, the Iași Gendarmerie ensures public order measures and the safety of people in the area of the Metropolis, with measures in place to manage and streamline the flow of pilgrims", announced the representatives of the institution.
The missions are executed in an integrated system, together with the County Police Inspectorate, the Iasi Emergency Situations Inspectorate and the Iasi Local Police.
Starting on October 8, with the official start of the pilgrimage, the public order assurance missions will be taken over and carried out, alongside the local structures, by the "Alexandru cel Bun" Bacau Mobile Gendarme Group, the gendarmes also announce.
The pilgrimage to St. Parascheva, one of the largest in the region, will begin in Iasi on Thursday, October 8, 2026.
