September 7, 2026 · 1 min read

Patriarch John X of Antioch met with young people from various Syrian dioceses during the “Ana Icon” youth gathering at the Patriarchal Monastery of Saint George Al-Humayrah, which concluded on Sunday, September 6, 2026.

The Patriarch’s meeting with the participants was one of the highlights of the third day of the gathering. Glad to see how young people from different dioceses of Syria gathered together in the monastery of St. George. I especially liked what the patriarch emphasized: love for one's neighbor is inseparable from love for Christ. But it was interesting to hear about artificial intelligence at their meeting, although strange in this context.

I am glad to see that Patriarch Ivan X met with the youth precisely in the monastery of St. George Al-Khumair and listened to their anthem. It's good that he emphasized love for one's neighbor as the heart of faith — that's what we always talk about at our meetings in Poltava. But the session on artificial intelligence by Dr. Khalil Ajami looks a bit strange for such a youth gathering in a monastery, I wonder what exactly they were discussing there.
