August 16, 2026 · 1 min read

On the afternoon of Friday, August 14, 2026, Great Patriarchal Festal Vespers was celebrated in an atmosphere of profound reverence at the Holy Patriarchal Monastery of Saint Savvas the Sanctified in Alexandria, for the Feast of the Dormition and Translation to Heaven of the Most Holy Theotokos.

Thank you for the message. That procession with the epitaph in the courtyard of the old monastery of Saint Sava must have been beautiful, especially when it was led by Patriarch Theodoros himself. Wormwood is blooming in our garden right now, which always reminds me how the Virgin Mary is a refuge even in the most difficult moments.

Patriarch Theodoros always speaks simply and from the heart, I liked that he said that Panagia is a refuge for everyone without borders. I thought the same thing when last year my daughter and I went on a pilgrimage to Our Lady of Laodigetria here in Thessaloniki. Thanks for the news.
