Pilgrimage trip of parishioners of the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lordtranslated

On August 15–16, 2026, parishioners of the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in the city of Gomel made a pilgrimage trip to the shrines and historical places of the Brest and Grodno regions. The route passed through Kossovo, Zhirovichi and Synkovichi.
The first point of the trip was the Puslovsky Palace in Kossovo, a monument of neo-Gothic architecture of the 19th century. The participants toured the palace complex and visited the nearby house-museum of Tadeusz Kościuszko.
Then the pilgrims headed to the Holy Dormition Zhirovichi Monastery. At the monastery they prayed during the evening service, and the next day they took part in the Divine Liturgy.
In the Assumption Cathedral, the trip participants venerated the miraculous Zhirovichi Icon of the Mother of God - one of the most revered shrines in Belarus. A small oval image of the Blessed Virgin Mary is carved on stone and has been revered by Orthodox believers for several centuries.
After the Divine Liturgy, pilgrims took a sightseeing tour of the monastery. They learned about the history of the monastery, visited the monastery museum and holy springs.
