The Khibiny Mountains are the highest mountains in the European Arctic of Russia. There is a national park with an area of over 84 thousand hectares. The city of Apatity has become popular in recent years among people who love active recreation. Climbers, skiers, as well as those who make hikes of varying difficulty routes come here. As noted in a number of guidebooks, in Apatity it is interesting to visit unique museums with collections of rare minerals. In winter, guests have the chance to see the Northern Lights directly overhead.
