The town of Pantelimon, located on the shore of the lake of the same name in Ilfov county, honored its patron on Monday, at the "St. Nicholas" Church in the locality, where the saint's relics are kept, once in the heritage of the former "St. Pantelimon" Monastery.

The parish church currently owns part of the right forearm of St. M. Mc. and Healer Pantelimon, brought from St. Mount Athos in 1750 by ruler Grigorie Ghica II.

"During the years of sad remembrance of communism, when the communist regime decided to demolish the monastery church, where the holy relics of the Holy Great Martyr Pantelimon were, they were moved to the parish church of the city of Pantelimon, dedicated to Saint Nicholas, where it has been since 1960," said Father Adrian Tănăsoiu, parish priest of the Pantelimon Sat community, for Trinitas TV.

The Holy Liturgy was officiated by a council led by Father Gheorghe Ispas, the parish priest of the "Saint Mina" Church in Bucharest.
