Celebrations in honor of the grand 750th anniversary of the city

On July 22, 2026, in Kamenets there was a merger of two great historical dates, which filled the hearts of the residents with a single impulse of popular gratitude. Celebrations in honor of the grandiose 750th anniversary of the city symbolically opened at the mass grave with a requiem meeting. Those present honored the 82nd anniversary of the liberation of the region from the Nazi invaders. The date July 22, 1944 is forever inscribed in the chronicles of Kamenets as the day of his second birth, which gave generations freedom and a peaceful sky. Together with representatives of the public and residents of the city, the dean of the churches of the Kamenets district, the rector of the Church of St. Simeon the Stylite, Archpriest Sergius Burkovsky, took part in the memorial event. Sharing with the townspeople the sorrow for the dead and the joy of gaining freedom, the priest honored the memory of the defenders of the Fatherland. The meeting ended with a minute of silence and the laying of flowers. Bright bouquets at the foot of the memorial became a symbol of the eternal gratitude of descendants and the inextricable connection of times.
