Uzhur recruits to serve in the Russian Armed Forces were given farewell by a priesttranslated

On October 16, a solemn meeting dedicated to seeing off conscripts for service in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation took place in the Alley of Military Glory in the city of Uzhur.
The rector of the Church of the Holy Life-Giving Trinity in the village of Solgon, Priest Georgy Tymkiv, came to bid farewell to the future soldiers. In his address to the recruits, the priest called on them to bear the title of Defender of the Fatherland with honor and dignity, wished them a spirit of wisdom and reason, spiritual and physical perfection, as well as God’s help in the performance of military duty. Father George recalled that the Russian Orthodox Church has historically never stood aside from the defense of its native land, always blessing the sons of its Fatherland for feats of arms, and emphasized that the service of a warrior is not just a duty, but also a high spiritual mission to preserve the people and the Orthodox faith.
Now the recruits will have to go to training units, where they will take the military oath and begin mastering military specialties.
