Sacerdote nicaragüense: ‘Sostenemos la fe del pueblo desde las catacumbas de la prudencia’traducido

Desde el corazón de Nicaragua, un sacerdote de esa nación dice que la Iglesia sostiene la fe del pueblo desde “las catacumbas de la prudencia” ante la feroz persecución de la dictadura del presidente Daniel Ortega y su esposa y vicepresidenta, Rosario Murillo.

El sacerdote, que pidió permanecer en el anonimato por razones de seguridad y para evitar represalias, habló con ACI Prensa, el servicio hermano en español de EWTN News, el 3 de julio inmediatamente después de la segunda vez que el obispo emérito de Estelí, Abelardo Mata, fue detenido.

Según una fuente consultada por ACI Prensa cercana a la Iglesia en Nicaragua, el obispo “no se encuentra bajo arresto domiciliario, y se desconoce su paradero”, ya que no ha regresado a su residencia.

El sacerdote afirmó que "es cierto que desde fuera puede parecer un silencio aparente, que no debe confundirse con indiferencia o miedo paralizante. Es en realidad un silencio nacido de la prudencia y de una profunda responsabilidad pastoral".

Tras señalar que la dictadura “ha relegado la fe al ámbito privado” o “dentro de los muros de las iglesias”, el sacerdote señaló que varios obispos se encuentran en el exilio.
