8 nights – 4 vigils on Mount Athos for the Irmos Chanting Academytranslated

The well-established "Summer Teaching in Holy Chant" was held from July 17 to 25, 2026 by the Eirmos Chant Academy, the Children's and Youth Byzantine Choir of the Holy Metropolis of Thessaloniki — the only children's and youth Byzantine choir with a functional character in Greece. With the blessing of His Holiness the Metropolitan of Thessaloniki, Mr. Philotheos, a group of the Eirmos Psalter Academy, under the director and maestro of Spyridon Aspiotis, made a multi-day pilgrimage and educational visit to the Holy Monasteries and Hermitages of Mount Athos. During their 9-day stay (8 nights), the young singers were blessed to participate by singing in 4 holy Vigils.

In the historical singing accompaniment of the Daniels In the context of the activities of the Choir, a group of EIRMOS (consisting initially of 9 and then of 6 members), accompanied by Mr. Spyridon Aspiotis, had the special honor and blessing to be, upon invitation, part of the accompaniment of the Elder Damascene (Kelion of Agioi Anargyros of Nea Skitis), successor of the great chanting tradition of the Daniels.
