Bishop of Achelou Nifon: Saint Pelagia gives us hopetranslated

All of us must give our best in what we call spiritual life. The saints did that. They were no different from us. Similar in everything to us, but they managed to heal their souls with the means and medicines given by our church A holy vigil was held on Wednesday, October 7 (Pelagias of Jesus, Pelagia of the virgin martyr, Taisias of the former prostitute), in the Holy Church of Evangelistria Piraeus, in which the Most Holy Bishop of Achelous Mr. Nifon, Proto-Secretary of the Holy Metropolis of Piraeus officiated and preached the divine word.

The vigil and the speech are part of the "PARISH in action" program.

Theophilastos in his sermon referred to man's path towards spiritual perfection with the life of Saint Pelagia as a key example. Her life is not only a shocking event of repentance, but also a model for every Christian who wishes to advance in spiritual life and reach union with God.
