Smolensk: About 10,000 people worshiped the right hand of Saint Spyridon on the first daytranslated

In Smolensk, on September 2nd, a reliquary with the fragment of the right hand of Saint Spyridon was placed, which was received by the local Metropolitan Mr. Isidoros. According to the Holy Metropolis during the first day of the stay of the holy relic in Smolensk, about 10,000 people came to worship. Yesterday evening, September 3, in the Assumption Cathedral of the city of Smolensk, the Metropolitan of Smolensk and Dorogombuz Mr. Isidoros prayed in honor of Saint Spyridon before his right hand.

The Minister of Internal Affairs of the Smolensk Region, Pyotr Yuryevich Mukhin, was present at the ceremony.

Parishioners from churches of Smolensk and the Smolensk region, pilgrims from the city of Vitebsk and other regions of Russia and Belarus prayed at the service.

The reliquary will remain in the Assumption Cathedral until this afternoon, when it will depart for Irkutsk.

10.000 Leute am ersten Tag, das ist beeindruckend. Gut, dass der Metropolit Isidoros gleich am Abend die Gebetsfeier gehalten hat und sogar der Innenminister Muchin dabei war. Hoffentlich kommen in Irkutsk auch so viele zusammen, bevor die Reliquie weiterreist.
