The Metropolitan of Aetolia and Acarnania at the presentation of the book "Besieged Holy City"translated

The event for the presentation of the book by Protopresbyter Andreas Kappe, Head of the Holy Church of Agia Paraskevi I.P., took place with great success on the evening of Wednesday, July 22, 2026, in the Hall of the Radio House of the Holy City of Messolonghi. Messolonghi, under the title "Besieged Holy City". The event was graced by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Aetolia and Acarnania, Mr. Damaskinos, underlining the importance of the publication for the preservation of the historical memory and spiritual heritage of the place.

The event was organized by the Holy Church of Agia Paraskevi and joined the anniversary actions of our Local Church, for the completion of two hundred years since the heroic Exodus of the Free Besieged, constituting an important spiritual and historical reference in the memory of the events that marked the course of the Nation.

The book, the fruit of many years of historical research and study, highlights the timeless presence and contribution of the Church in the Holy City of Messolonghi, illuminating its contribution during the siege and highlighting the power of faith as the foundation of freedom, national consciousness and self-sacrifice.
