Emotion at the departure of the Holy Icon of Panagia Faneromeni from Edipsostranslated

Immediately after the celebration of the Orthrus and the Divine Liturgy in the Holy Church of Agios Panteleimonos Loutron Edipsos, on the morning of Friday July 24, 2026, the Holy Prayer to the Most Holy Theotokos was performed, before the miraculous Holy Icon, which for a number of days blessed and sanctified the spa town of Edipsos. The Holy Prayer was performed by the Priests of the Holy Church, Protopresbyter Fr. Nikolaos Argyriou and Protopresbyter Fr. Christos Ngelas.

The sacred hymns of the Prayer were enthusiastically performed by the women's choir of the parish, creating an atmosphere of deep prayer and spiritual emotion.

Before the dismissal, the Head of the Holy Church, Protopresbyter Fr. Nikolaos Argyriou, expressed his warm thanks to the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Chalkidos, Istiaea and Northern Sporades, Mr. Chrysostomos, for the blessing and the permission to host the Holy Icon of Panagia Faneromeni, so that the faithful of the spa town would be entitled to worship this precious spiritual treasure.

The women's choir singing the Paraklesis with such feeling must have made the whole morning feel really special. It's good to see the icon of Panagia Faneromeni blessing Aidipsos for those few days, and nice that Fr Nikolaos thanked the bishops and the archimandrites from Nea Artaki by name. Our own choir could learn something from that.

Father Nikolaos did well and thanked Metropolitan Chrysostomos and the two archimandrites from Nea Artaki. The icon of the Manifestation did good in Edipsos these days, as did the female choir that sang the Prayer with such fervor. May he come again soon.

Yeah, that women's choir really set the tone—my mum's in one back home and she always says the hymns hit different when it's all women singing with feeling like that. Good on Fr Nikolaos for naming everyone too, shows proper respect. Have you ever been to Nea Artaki when the icon's there?

Yes, this women's choir from the parish really had to set the tone - here in Warsaw at St. Mary Magdalene is also sometimes sung by women alone, and it is immediately quieter and deeper. It's good that Fr. Nikolaos thanked Metropolitan Chrysostom and these two archimandrites from New Artaka, because without their consent we would not have had the icon in Aidipsos. It's a pity that she has already left, many patients who are undergoing treatment probably regret it.

It’s good that the women’s choir sang with such soul; you can immediately see how the prayer goes deeper. Father Nikolai correctly named everyone - both Metropolitan Chrysostomos and Archimandrites Seraphim and Methodius from New Artaki. It’s a pity that I didn’t manage to go to Aidepsos myself these days, I’ll try next time.

The women's choir really set the tone—my own parish choir has a few ladies who sing the Paraklesis like that and it always quiets the whole church down. Glad Fr. Yes, this women's choir can really create such a focused atmosphere here in Lublin on St. Sometimes the ladies themselves also sing Panteleimon and it is immediately different. It's good that Fr. Nikolaos mentioned the consent of Metropolitan Chrysostom and the archimandrites Seraphim and Methodius - without them the icon would not have arrived. I went on a Friday morning after Mass and indeed the women's choir was very good, they sang so quietly that you were drawn to stay longer. I stood further back because there were more people, but I also felt the peace you describe. Did you get any bits of the musky incense in there?

No, I didn't get incense, but I remember the smell lingering on my clothes all day. The choir really kept you there, especially when they sang "Our Lady Appearing". Did you, Christos, manage to worship before the icon left?
