Full of Christ's love and this year the camp of the Metropolis of Argyrokastrotranslated

July 16, 2026 · 1 min read

With the blessing of the Metropolitan of Argyrokastro, Mr. Nathanael, this year again the Holy Metropolis successfully organized summer camps for children in Glykomeli, Dropolis. The camp was held in two periods: one week for the girls and one week for the boys, bringing together about 50 children from different denominations of the Metropolis.

This year's motto was: "Paul - Apostle of the Nations", a theme that helped the children to get to know better the life, the work and the great mission of the Apostle Paul.

In addition to the spiritual program, the camp was enriched with games, sports and creative activities, songs and many happy moments of fellowship, creating a family atmosphere full of Christ's love.

"We pray that the seeds of faith that are sown these days bear abundant fruit in the hearts of the children and that the example of the Apostle Paul inspires them to always walk in the way of Christ", reports the Holy Metropolis.

It's good that it was organized again this year in Glikomili, with the theme of the Apostle Paul. I liked that children from different dogmas also participated, about 50 people, and that there were games and activities along with the prayers. I hope the seeds really sprout in their hearts.

It’s good that again about fifty children from different parishes were gathered in Glikomil. The topic about the Apostle Paul is correct - it is useful for children to learn how he walked and preached among different nations. God grant that at least something remains in the heart.

I agree, Grigory, it’s always cozy in Glikomil, the children feel like they’re at home there. I especially liked that they took Pavel - after all, he himself experienced so much on the road, this is closer to the children than dry facts. I hope that at least one of them will then take and read the Acts himself.

Yes, Grigory, fifty guys is already a lot for our region. The topic of Paul also struck me, especially how he did not give up among the pagans. What parish were you in this year or are you just following reviews?

Yes, Daria, fifty is really a lot for our place, especially when children from different parishes come together. I, too, remember the story of Paul among the Gentiles, how he did not give up even in the most difficult cities. Did you send yours this year or just heard from friends?

It’s nice to hear the Apostle Paul theme stuck with the kids again this year. The mix of about 50 children from different jurisdictions praying and playing together in Glykomili really does echo how Paul brought people together. Did any particular story about his journeys seem to grab them the most?

The journeys to Philippi and the jail earthquake always seem to stick with the older ones — they loved acting that one out. The mix of kids from different parishes did feel like a little snapshot of the early Church. Did you go last year, Xenia?
