Pylaia honored the Patron Saint of Prophet Elias (PHOTO)translated

"The incarnate Angel, the crucifix of the Prophets, the second Forerunner, of the presence of Christ, Elijah the glorious..."

With particular splendor and in an atmosphere of deep sadness, Pylaia honored today its patron and protector, the Prophet Elias the Thesvite, with the focus of the festive events being the Holy Temple of the same name.

From early in the morning, dozens of believers from Pylaia and the surrounding areas came to the celebratory church, in order to participate in the High Priestly Divine Liturgy, to receive communion of the Immaculate Mysteries and to receive the blessing of the patron Prophet.

The Solemn Divine Liturgy was presided over by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Sisani and Siatist Mr. Athanasios, flanked by the General Hierarchal Commissioner of the Holy Metropolis of Thessaloniki, Archimandrite Photios Zarzavatsakis, the head of the Holy Temple, Archimandrite Spyridon Karataidis, Archimandrite Theonas Pliantis, archpriest Thomas Gallidis, elder Dimitrios Iosifides, as well as a number of clergy and deacons from the Holy Metropolis of Thessaloniki and neighboring Metropolises.
