An encyclical on the occasion of the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross was issued by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Mani, Mr. Chrysostomos, in which he reminds us of the importance and honor that all of us should give to the Holy Cross. The Circular in detail:

With this circular we want to remind you of the love you have for Christ and His holy Church, the importance and the honor we all have to give to the Holy Cross.

And this, because the Cross of the Lord occupies a central position in the mystery of our redemption in Christ. On the Cross the most shocking battle was fought and the greatest victory was won. The devil was defeated on the Cross. With the sacrifice of the Cross, the way of salvation was opened. From the cross of Christ comes the new life, the love, the joy and the hope of the believers.

The Cross of our Lord is the holiest symbol of our faith. It declares His sacrifice on the cross with which man was redeemed from sin and the way to Heaven was opened. That is why it dominates both outside the dome of the Church and inside the Holy Step and in other places, in the iconostasis, in the icons, in the robes of the priests, in the liturgical books, in the shrines...
