Solemn High Priestly Liturgy at I.N. Saint Thomas in Maleotranslated

On Tuesday, July 7, 2026, our Church honored the memory of Saint Thomas in Maleo. On the holy day, in the eponymous Holy Church near the Holy Monastery, the solemn Orthros, the blessing of the loaves and the High Priestly Divine Liturgy presided over by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Sparta, Mr. Efstathios, were held. During the Divine Liturgy, the Reverend Pastor Mr. Efstathios addressed a speech of spiritual edification to the numerous devout pilgrims from the wider area. His Holiness pointed out that the venerable Saint Thomas, having all the virtues that characterize monks and ascetics, that is, deep faith in God, sacrificial love for his fellow man, unceasing prayer, self-denial, humility and obedience, managed to reach the highest levels of spirituality, while benefiting those who turned to him in search of guidance and spiritual peace.

Concluding, Rev. Pastor Mr. Efstathios praised Professor Fr. Cheroubeim and his entourage for their spirituality and hard work, while he wished the Vatikians to always be under the protection of Saint Thomas.
