Metropolita Kydonie uspořádal vzpomínkovou bohoslužbu za padlé během bitvy u Vrysypřeloženo

With respect and emotion, on Monday, August 31, 2026, at the historical site "Kefalovrysi" of Vrysi, Apokoronou, the memory of the heroes who fought and fell for Faith and Country during the Battle of Vrysi, on the three days of August 26 to 29, 1866, one of the most important conflicts of the Great Cretan Revolution, was commemorated. The event was attended by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Kydonia and Apokoronou, Mr. Titos, who performed the memorial service at the monument of the fallen in the presence of representatives of the political and military Authorities, agencies and many residents of the area.

Akci spolupořádaly Region Kréta – regionální jednotka Chania, Obec Apokoronou, Kulturní sdružení Vrysos, Charitativní nadace „Agia Sophia“, Federace sdružení Apokoronou Attica a Obecní společenství Vrysos.

Po pietním aktu následovalo položení věnců a pozdravů, přičemž historický projev pronesl právník pan Emmanuel Nikoloudis, který přednesl důkazy a fakta související s bitvou u Vrysy a jejím významem pro vývoj krétské revoluce roku 1866.
