It is interesting that Archimandrite Jacob again preached both on the eve and on the day itself. He emphasized well how Elijah did not compromise in his time. In Kazan, too, on Elijah’s Day there are always a lot of people in churches, especially on the outskirts.

Yes, Jacob said well about Elijah’s steadfastness among the apostates—it really hits home. In Minsk, on Elijah’s Day, the church is also full, especially those who come with vegetable gardens light candles for the harvest. Are there any special traditions in the outskirts of Kazan?

Yes, Jacob rightly emphasized how Elijah did not compromise even when everyone around him backslid - it really makes you think. In Yaroslavl, after the service, many also come from the gardens and ask for prayer for potatoes and tomatoes. And in the outskirts of Kazan, what traditions have been preserved, tell me, I’m interested?

Yes, Elijah, Jacob said well about Elijah’s steadfastness - without compromise at such a time. In Yaroslavl, after the liturgy, people often come from our gardens and ask us to pray for the harvest. And in the outskirts of Kazan, what traditions remain on Elijah’s Day, besides prayers for rain? Interesting to hear.

Elijah, yes, Jacob accurately noticed this perseverance without compromise, especially when everyone around was bowing down. In Yaroslavl, after the service, grandmothers often come up with buckets and ask us to pray for the potatoes so that they don’t rot. Have you ever been to Kazan yourself or have you just heard about the outskirts there?
