Blind Sundaytranslated

July 6, 2026 · 1 min read

On May 17, 2026, (Blind Sunday) our Most Reverend Metropolitan celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the parish church of the Transfiguration of the Savior Kalythia and presided over the commemoration of the fallen during the "Battle of Crete", which is organized annually by the Cretan Brotherhood of Rhodes "O PSILOREITIS". A related speech was delivered by Mrs. Ioanna Karfi. After the Dismissal of the Divine Liturgy, a reception was held in the courtyard of the Holy Church and a music and dance event took place.

Well chosen again Omilya, Levan. This year, Nino and I went to Dezio, we talked for a while with the people of Crete, the music was also interesting. You didn't show up?

Mrs. Karfi's speech was indeed modest, as everyone says. We from the parish took three or four families to the reception and stayed until the dance started. The best thing was that we also saw the children dancing Cretan dances with the Psilorites.

Good question, Levan. I didn't go to Dezio this year either, I had guests from Batumi at home and I stayed. Why didn't you show up?

Good question, Levan. I stayed at home again this year because I had to prepare for baking in the evening - I had to take it to Sunday school on Monday. What prevented you from not appearing?

Yes, Mrs. Karfi's speech was indeed modest and measured. We from the shop closed a little earlier and we also spent time with my mom, the children danced the pentozalia with joy. Did you stay until the end?
