The Prime Minister of Serbia at Lelic Monastery: Serbia continues to cultivate traditiontranslated

The Holy Monastery of Lelic was visited on Monday, July 20, 2026, by the Prime Minister of Serbia, dr. Juro Machut. The Prime Minister was warmly welcomed by the Theophilus Bishop of Valievo, Mr. Hesychios. "It is wonderful that you, as the Prime Minister of Serbia and a person who decides and is interested in the secular aspects of our people, visit this holy place and in this way show that you are on the path of St. Nikolaus Velimirovic, full of love and respect for him," the Theophilus told Dr. Macut.
The Serbian Prime Minister venerated the relic of Saint Nikolaus Velimirovic which was transferred to the Lelic Monastery from the Church of Saint Sava (Illinois-USA) on May 12, 1991.
The Prime Minister was given a tour of the Lelits Monastery by the Abbot Archimandrite George and the Fathers of the Monastery. Bishop Mr. Hesychios presented the Prime Minister with an icon.
In the framework of his visit to the region of Valjevo, the Prime Minister of Serbia, Dr. Dzuro Macut, paid tribute to the Holy Church of the Holy Archangels in the village of Brankovina, a village known for the famous Nenadovic family, from which came revolutionaries, politicians, intellectuals...
