The Hellenic Red Cross informed 200 children of the Athens Municipality camp about safe swimmingtranslated

The Hellenic Red Cross, on the occasion of World Drowning Prevention Day (25/7) and as part of its nationwide campaign "Enjoy water safely", carried out, on Thursday, July 23, 2026, a large action to inform and raise awareness about water safety, at the camps of the Municipality of Athens in Agios Andreas, with the participation of approximately 200 children, 5th and 6th primary school.
The young campers met the volunteer Lifeguards of the Hellenic Red Cross, were informed about the rules of safe swimming, watched impressive rescue demonstrations in the wet element, trained in First Aid and got to know the multidimensional humanitarian work of the Hellenic Red Cross.
The Hellenic Red Cross, through knowledge, prevention and education, cultivates the culture of water safety in children. Because every child deserves to enjoy the sea safely and every knowledge can save a life.
