Multi-hierarchical Vespers of the Synagogue of Panagia Vourliotissa and reception of Holy Wood in N. Philadelphiatranslated

On Saturday, October 3, 2026, in the Holy Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin of New Philadelphia, the Great Polyarchy Vespers was celebrated with due splendor on the feast of the Synagogue of the Holy Miraculous Icon of Our Lady of Vourliotissa, Patron and Patron of the city of N. Philadelphia. The Solemn Vespers was officiated by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Sisanio and Siatistis, Mr. Athanasios, and concelebrated by the Most Reverend Metropolitans of Maroneia and Komotini, Mr. Panteleimon, and of Nea Ionia, Philadelphia, Heraklion and Chalcedon, Mr. Gabriel, with the participation of a number of clergy. Earlier, as part of the celebration, the official reception of a piece of Sacred Wood took place in the propylaea of the Holy Church.
The Holy Mass was attended by the Mayor of N. Philadelphia-N. Mr. Ioannis Tombouloglou of Chalcedon, Deputy Mayors, members of the Municipal and Community Councils of the Municipality, city officials and a multitude of believers, who reverently came to the Cathedral of New Philadelphia to venerate the miraculous Icon of Theotokos and the piece of Holy Wood from the Holy and Life-giving Cross of our Lord.
