July 23: Osia Pelagia of Tinos celebratestranslated

A year after the start of the Greek Revolution of 1821, the Virgin Mary appeared to the pious nun Pelagia, who was retiring in practice at the Monastery of Kehrovouni, high in the mountains of Tinos, and asked her to notify a villager, Stamelos Kangadis, that he had been chosen to find her image buried in a field and build a temple in her honor. Frightened and considering herself unworthy of such a revelation, Pelagia disobeyed.
Our Lady appeared to her again the following week, but she greeted her with the same doubts. Finally, on July 29, while praying, Pelagia saw the Queen of Heaven standing before her, surrounded by divine light. He repeated her command and greeted her with these words: "Evangelize, earth, great joy!" The nun replied with the continuation of the hymn: "Praise, heavens, God's glory." At the beginning of the Order of Orthro she went to report the vision to her abbess, who confirmed its authenticity.
The next day he went to the village, informed Stamatelos Kangadis and after the bishop gave his consent and blessing recognizing that it was a sign of her mercy...
