The Association of Emigrants and Repatriated Laconians honored Efstathios of Spartatranslated

The Municipality of Sparta, in collaboration with the Association of Expatriates and Repatriated Laconians "LEONIDAS", organizes in Sparta, from Monday July 20, 2026 until Sunday July 26, the "Week of Expatriates 2026". The event is dedicated to culture, music, history and sports, with the aim of reconnecting Laconians everywhere with their place of origin. As part of the events, on the evening of Tuesday, July 21, a music and dance procession to the rebetiko song was held in the central square, organized by the "Tyrtaios" Music School and the Sparta Folk Dance Association.

In their greetings, both the Mayor of Sparta, Mr. Michalis Vakalopoulos, and the President of the Association of Expatriates and Repatriated Laconians "o Leonidas", Mr. Georgios Fountoukis, spoke about the importance of strengthening the ties of the Municipality of Sparta with expatriates, through the establishment of the Week of Expatriates.
