High priest Vespers for the feast of Agios Prokopios in Kladorrachis, Florinatranslated

July 9, 2026 · 1 min read

On Tuesday, July 7, 2026, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Florina, Prespa and Eordaia, Mr. Irenaios officiated at the High Priestly Vespers held at the celebratory Church of Agios Prokopios Kladorrachis, Florina. The children who are being accommodated at this time in the camps of the Holy Metropolis also participated in the procession. The President of the Municipal Council of Florina Mr. Dimitrios Theofanidis and the Deputy Mayor of Florina Mr. Konstantinos Rozas were also present.

In his sermon, His Holiness spoke to the children and, through a direct dialogue, presented key elements from the life of Saint Procopius. On the occasion of the icon of the Saint, he particularly referred to the Cross and its importance in the life of Christians.

Concluding, he wished everyone health and every blessing, with the embassies of the Holy Great Martyr Procopius.

It's good that the children from the camps also came to the service. I liked that the Metropolitan spoke directly to them about Saint Procopius and the Cross, instead of a long sermon. I hope they remember something.

It was good that the children from the camp were at the service and that the bishop did not read a long sermon, but simply talked to them about the saint and about the Cross. This is what is remembered best.

Yes, I also thought it was appropriate for him to talk directly to the children like that. What he said about the Cross probably stuck in their heads better than if he gave them a long sermon. Have you ever been to Kladorrachi at St. Procopius?

Yes, I also think that this direct dialogue with children is much more useful than a long sermon. I loved that he connected the life of St. Procopius to the meaning of the Cross, just what they need to hear this summer at camp. Daniela, I haven't been to Kladorrachi on holiday yet, but I'd like to see what it's like.
