With ecclesiastical propriety and in a climate of praise and unity, the Divine Liturgy and the official Doxology on the National Anniversary of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg were celebrated on Sunday, June 21, 2026, in the Cathedral of Saint Nicolas, in the Weiler-la-Tour area of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
The Divine Liturgy and the Doxology were presided over by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Belgium and Exarch of the Netherlands and Luxembourg Mr. Athenagoras, flanked by the priests of the Cathedral, as well as by clergy from the Serbian-speaking, Romanian-speaking and Bulgarian-speaking parishes of the wider region. The Archdeacon of the Holy Metropolis also participated, while the Byzantine and Bulgarian choirs embellished the service with their participation.
A special feature of the Divine Liturgy was the multilingual performance of the hymns, which were sung in Greek, Bulgarian, Romanian and Arabic, naturally reflecting the universality of the Orthodox Church and the peaceful coexistence of believers of different origins and traditions.
