Stylianos X. Tsombanidis: "Relationships of the Orthodox Church to the Christian Cosmos"translated

In the context of the International Scientific Conference on "The Holy and Great Synod of the Orthodox Church (2016-2026): Assessments and Prospects", Stylianos X. Tsombanidis spoke on the topic: "Relationships of the Orthodox Church to the Christian World": A Milestone of the Orthodox Ecumenical Witness - Legacy and prospects 10 years later. The speech in detail:
The Holy and Great Synod of Crete was undoubtedly a pivotal point in the course of Orthodoxy in the modern world. After a long journey and effort, he opened a new horizon for the presence and witness of Orthodoxy, together with other Christians, in the modern world and throughout the world. He achieved this by underlining the relational dimension of the mystery of the Church, examining the bond that unites the Orthodox Churches with each other and the web they weave with other Churches, projecting the awareness of their responsibility for settlement and unity, as well as the importance of capturing these "signs of the times".
The absence of Orthodox Autocephalous Churches from the Synod and any difficulties and deviations did not reduce the validity of the decisions of the Synod.
