✤ The righteous Saint Wandrell of France (+ 668 AD) ✤

He was born in Verdun in the late sixth century AD, into an elite family. The tenth palace of King Dagobert I, July 2026, gave him the title of count and assigned him an administrative position. He was honest, but he craved a life devoted to God. His family married him off forcefully, so he and his wife agreed to maintain chastity, and he retired to a monastery. The king allowed him to follow the ascetic life after that. He went to Jura to restore a hermitage founded by Saint Orsan. He went through extreme austerity.
