Georgia Sio to the Patriarch: We keep in our memory the support you have shown to the Georgian Churchtranslated

On the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the Enthronement of His Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Mr. Bartholomew, His Beatitude Patriarch of Georgia Mr. Sio III, sent a congratulatory letter, which was delivered to His Holiness by a delegation of the Orthodox Church in Georgia, which visited Fanari yesterday.  In his letter, His Beatitude first states:

"Thirty-five years ago, according to the will of God, you assumed the honorable, but at the same time extremely responsible and heavy cross of pastoral ministry on the ancient Patriarchal Throne of Constantinople.

Over the centuries, the Church of Constantinople has faced numerous historical upheavals and spiritual trials. And your patriarchal ministry unfolds in an era full of challenges and difficulties."
