EPOD meeting in Plastira Lake: The new generation spearheading the formation of a collective national and cultural identitytranslated

"There is an urgent need to adopt an Intergenerational Cultural Festival with the aim of the active participation of the youth in the creative re-approach of the cultural heritage and the formation of a collective national and cultural identity of Hellenism". This is the central conclusion reached by the 2nd Synod of the Cyprus-Greece-Apantachou Hellenism, held recently in Plastira Lake in the presence of 50 delegates from Cyprus, Greece, Lower Italy and Northern Epirus (Albania) representing the 24 associations that make it up. The Synod was attended by representatives of cultural/spiritual bodies interested in joining the EPOD as observers.
The delegates approved a resolution condemning the barbaric Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974 and the continued illegal occupation of 37% of Cypriot territory. In the conclusions of the Synod and in the unanimously approved resolution, the following are highlighted:
