Today, July 12, 2026, our Church honors the holy memory of Agios Paisios of Agioreitos. The popular saint of our time whose life passed on the television screen through the successful television series "Agios Paisios - From the Fools to Heaven", produced by the Institute of Agios Maximos the Greek. All over the world, where there are Orthodox Christian churches, Saint Paisios is honored, but he is especially honored in the places where he lived.

Among them is Konitsa, the birthplace of the modern Saint of Orthodoxy, which is these days a pan-Hellenic spiritual center. Today Sunday - the day of the feast - in the rural Konitsa, with religious splendor, deep emotion and unprecedented participation of believers from every corner of Greece, the devotional events in memory of Saint Paisios of Agioreitos culminate.

On Saturday afternoon, the Great Poly-hierarchical Vespers was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the Holy Pilgrimage Church of Agios Kosmas of Aitolos, under the patronage of the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Kastoria Mr. Kallinikos and in the presence of representatives of the local authorities, deputies of the Prefecture of Ioannina and the security forces.
