The Feast of St. Demetrius and the Collection of the Holy Relics of St. George from Ioannina at SMYK Vellastranslated

With ecclesiastical splendor and spiritual rapture, the memory of the Holy Great Martyr Dimitrios of Myrovlytos, as well as the Collection of the Holy Relics of the Holy New Martyr George, the athlete in Ioannina, the patron saint of Ioannina, was honored at the School of Apprenticeship for Clerical Candidates (SMYK) of Vella. The Holy Mass was presided over by the Principal of the School, Fr. Thomas Andreou, assisted by the celebrant Fr. Dimitrios. During the Orthro, the Schoolmaster presented the Holy Relics of the celebrated Saints, offering everyone the special blessing to venerate them with reverence and emotion, honoring their memory and martyrdom.
The hymns of the holiday were rendered by a dance of seminarians of the School, while the seminarians participated in the Holy Service, honoring the two Saints of our Church, who with their life and martyrdom gave a confession of faith in Christ.
Especially for the clergy of tomorrow, the figure of Saint Demetrius is a living lesson of spiritual responsibility. The Great Martyr did not keep his faith as a private matter, but made it a way of life and a witness to the truth, even in the face of the danger of death. That is why the Church honors him...
