The "Center for Ecclesiastical, Historical and Cultural Studies" (KEIPM) of the Holy Metropolis of Samos and Ikaria has published the eighth volume of the scientific journal "Bulletin of Samian Studies", which covers the two years 2025-2026. In this volume, which was edited by a special scientific committee, under the direction and general editorship of Professor M. G. Varvounis, which numbers 400 pages, as usual, studies, collections, bibliographies and book reviews are included, which illustrate the course of Sami studies, and the progress of both scientific research and Sami letters. The typographical corrections were edited by Mr. Nikos Orfanos, a partner of KEIPM and our Local Church.

The first part includes the studies of the Venerable Metropolitan of Samos and Ikaria Mr. Eusebius on the image of the charitable and social work of the Church today, the Professor and Director of the KEIPM on the summer festivals of Samos, between tradition, renewal and modernity and on the Holy Metropolis of Ikaria (1924 – 1931), its history and tradition, as well as in collaboration with Professor Univ. I am glad to see that the volume includes the work of Metropolitan Eusebius on the social role of the Church today, that always seems practical and necessary to me. I'm also curious about Varvounis's article on the summer festivals on Samos, between tradition and modernity; It sounds concrete. Can the volume be obtained in the parish or do I have to order it through the center?

Yes, I really liked Metropolitan Eusebio's article on the charity of the Church today, it is one of those texts that one can apply in the day-to-day life of the health center. Varvounis's report on summer festivals also looks interesting, especially what he says about how tradition and modernity mix. I haven't seen it in the parish yet, have you already asked for it through the KΕΙΠΜ?

Yes, Metropolitan Eusebio's article seemed very practical to me, especially when he talks about charity in everyday life; I apply it when I sew clothes for the parish closet. I also read Varvounis's about summer festivals slowly, I liked what he says about tradition that adapts without being lost. I haven't ordered it from ΚΕΙΠΜ yet, but I will ask my husband to call this week. Do you already have it on paper or do you read it in pdf?

Yes, Metropolitan Eusebio's article also helped me a lot to think about the little things we do at home, like when I prepare meals for those who pass by the parish. Varvounis's about the panegiris reminded me of the summers of my childhood on the coast, where everything was mixed between the old and the new. I have it in pdf for now, but I'm going to ask my daughter to print me the pages that interest me the most. Have you already decided which study you are going to read first when it arrives?

Metropolitan Eusebio's article also helped me see charity in the small things, like when I arrange the flowers in the garden for the parish festival. I especially liked Varvounis's part about summer panegiris about how it is renewed without breaking tradition; It reminded me of the San Juan festivities here. I have it in pdf, but I'm still going to ask my husband to call ΚΕΙΠΜ to get the paper, do you think they send it quickly?
