In the azure waters of Karathona: The church of Saints Constantine and Helen and its century-old connection to the founders of Nafpliotranslated

At the eastern tip of the picturesque promontory of Karathona, just a few kilometers from the historic center of Nafplio, stands the picturesque church of Saints Constantine and Helen. With its white and azure aesthetics, reminiscent of a typical island landscape, it serves as a stable reference point for both locals and visitors of the area.
Beyond its obvious beauty, this particular nook preserves a special local tradition dating back more than a century. Since 1910, the church has been closely linked to the Building Society and the craftsmen of the city of Nafplio. The masters of the region adopted it as their own sanctuary, taking care with great zeal of its maintenance, preservation, and beautification over the years.
Ecclesiastically, the church is a vantage point of the Holy Church of the Evangelistria of Nafplio. Indeed, for reasons of protection and security, the ancient and precious manuscripts as well as the historical icons of the church are kept in the Ecclesiastical Museum of the Evangelistria.
A place of departure and living tradition Every year, on the feast of the Saints on May 21, the church transforms into a center of religious devotion. Crowds of believers, together with tourists, gather to celebrate the feast and honor the saints.
