"Mesolonghi, the Last Supper of the Revolution": Anniversary Event in Angelokastrotranslated

With particular success and a large turnout, the anniversary event for the completion of two hundred years since the Heroic Exodus of the Free Besiegers (1826 – 2026) was held on Sunday, July 12, 2026. The event was organized by the Holy Parish Church of the Holy Apostles of Angelokastro in collaboration with the Local Community, under the auspices of the Holy Metropolis of Aetolia and Acarnania, in the presence of His Eminence Metropolitan Mr. Damascenes.

On Sunday morning, at the Holy Church of the Holy Apostles in Angelokastro, after the end of the Divine Liturgy, the Memorial Service for the repose of the souls of the fallen fighters of the Exodus was held in an emotional atmosphere. The events culminated in the evening of the same day at the Angelokastro Community Square, where the program opened with a welcome from the coordinator of the evening, who made a small introduction about the deeper meaning of the anniversary. This was followed by a recitation of the poem "To Riziko" by the students of the Angelokastro Primary School, Athina Moularogiannis and Loukia Giata.
