As every year, this year too, the beginning of the religious events, in Chalkida, in honor of the patron saint of Agia Paraskevi, was marked by the enthronement of her Holy and Miraculous Icon, which, traditionally, takes place with a Holy Vigil, on Monday, July 20, 2026 in the evening, during which the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Chalkida, Mr. Chrysostomos, presided, with co-officials the Clergy of Chalkidos and the surrounding areas. The Holy Vigil was held, for the fourth year in a row, at the Metropolitan Church of Agios Dimitrios Chalkidos, due to the restoration and renovation works being carried out in the early Christian Church of St. Friday of the patron saint of Chalkidos.

Shortly before the end of Vespers, the holy icon and the holy piece of the relic of Saint Paraskevi were brought in and enthroned, and the Reverence and the Priests chanted the praises before the holy canopy of the icon of Saint Paraskevi, spreading shivers of emotion in the gathered crowd of loyal believers, who they flooded -inside and outside- the I. Church, as every year, in order to meet the patroness of the Chalcidians.
