It is good that Patriarch Bartholomew himself will go to Tbilisi for the funeral service of Ilia II - this is correct and humane. It’s interesting that the new Catholicos Simeon III will soon be in Phanar, we’ll see how the relationship develops. It is a pity that Abkhazia is still in such a divided state, as can be seen from the meeting with this head of government in exile.

The visit to Tbilisi for Patriarch Ilya II’s funeral was the right thing to do; it showed simple Christian respect. Good to hear the new Catholicos Simeon III is coming to the Phanar soon. I hope the talks with the Abkhazian government-in-exile help ease some of that painful division one day.

Pope Bartholomew went to Tbilisi for the funeral of Ilya II, it was right and humane. I am happy that the new Catholicos Simeon III. he will come to Fanar soon, maybe things will get better. It's a shame about that divided Abkhazia, it still hurts.

The Patriarch going to Tbilisi for Patriarch Ilya II’s funeral really meant a lot to the Georgian people, from what Giorgi Jincharadze said. It’s good to hear the new Catholicos Simeon III will be visiting the Phanar soon too. I hope those talks with the Abkhazian government-in-exile can help move things forward somehow.

It's good that Patriarch Bartholomew went to Tbilisi for the funeral of Ilya II - apparently it touched people, as this Jinchardze said. I am interested to see how things will develop with the new Catholicos Simeon III coming soon to Fener. It's a pity for the divided Abkhazia, it still hurts.

I agree, showing up in Tbilisi for the funeral was the decent thing. It’s interesting that the new Catholicos is heading to the Phanar soon; maybe they’ll talk about reopening some of those closed churches in Abkhazia. Do you think the government-in-exile meeting will actually lead to any practical steps on the ground?

Yes, I was also impressed that they mentioned exactly this visit to Tbilisi - it clearly left a mark. I am waiting with interest to see how relations with Simeon III will go when he comes to Fener. And you are right about Abkhazia, the wound has not yet healed.

Yes, I also noticed that this particular visit to Tbilisi was mentioned several times - apparently it left a deep impression on the people there. I'm interested to see how things will turn out with Simeon III, especially around Abkhazia, where the wound is really still bleeding. What do you think, will a visit to Fener help for rapprochement?

Yes, meeting this leader in exile shows how confusing everything is in Abkhazia until now. It’s good that Bartholomew humanely supported the Georgian church at the funeral of Ilia II, this is important. I wonder how Simeon III will show himself in Phanar - maybe at least something will move there.

Yes, I also think that this visit to Tbilisi was important for the people there - especially since Jinchardze mentioned it. I look forward to seeing if Silo III brings any new ideas to Abkhazia when he comes to Fener. And what do you expect from his meeting with Bartholomew?
