Leros: Honorary event for Fr Nikodimos Fokastranslated

On Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at 7:00 p.m., at the Conference Center of the Holy Metropolis, in the "Patriarchion" of Alinton (School of Wisdom), the Committee for Culture and Information of the Municipality of Leros organized a modest event-honorary distinction in honor of the High Priestly Commissioner of the Holy Metropolis of Leros, Protopresbyter of the Ecumenical Throne Fr. Nikodimos Fokas, recognizing his multi-year, substantial and varied contribution to the local Church and to the Orthodox tradition of Leros. The honorary distinction to Father Nikodimos Fokas concerns, among other things, the creation of the Parish Center of Christ "The Ark" and the Museum of Asia Minor Culture, two important initiatives that are a legacy for the place. Through these actions, valuable elements of history, faith, traditions and collective memory are preserved, while at the same time younger generations are given the opportunity to get to know important aspects of the cultural heritage of Leros and Asia Minor Hellenism.
