Metropolitan Didymoteicho officiated at the Holy Church of Faneromeni Cholargostranslated

In the Holy Church of Faneromeni Cholargos, following the permission of His Beatitude Archbishop of Athens and All Greece Mr. Ieronymos, on Sunday, the 11th of October this year, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Didymoteicho Orestiados and Soufli Mr. Damascinos officiated as part of the anniversary celebrations organized by the parish on the completion 100 years since the construction of the first Holy Church in the year 1926.

Referring to the Gospel reading of the day, 4th Sunday of Luke, among other things, His Holiness emphasized: "Today's Sunday, on which the parable of the sower was read, traditionally also marks the beginning of the new missionary season. The seed, about which we heard, is the word of God that falls into the earth of our hearts, to take root and give it the fruits of virtues and the flavors of divine Grace.

The purpose of our life is one: sanctification. This is hinted at by this wonderful parable. The divine seed can fall on the hardness of our indifference and be lost.
